Had a Bad Day?

October 8, 2014

Has there ever been a stretch of time where you just feel worn down and emotionally beaten up by life situations?

Maybe things are just all going wrong, or you feel so insecure about yourself. Maybe you’re constantly comparing yourself to others, or feeling like “you’re the only one that feels/is this way.” Maybe you’re suddenly getting in arguments with people you love over really dumb things that don’t matter, or find yourself having a terrible attitude when there’s no real reason for it.

“Getting Saved” is not a DIY Project

September 29, 2014

I always wonder how people view these Scripture verses I post. I want it to be encouraging, but I also want to make sure that it is understood the way it was intended to be understood when it was written.

Have a Happy Grocery Experience

September 26, 2014

happygroceryGrocery shopping can become a monotonous, weekly chore for many of us. Ben and I usually grocery shop on Sundays, and those can be our lazy days. Sometimes it takes everything in us just to get up off the couch and go to the store. Sometimes I’m too lazy to make a grocery list, but as soon as I get to the store, I kick myself for not taking the time to make one. Continue Reading…

Banana Bread

September 22, 2014

bananabread copy

Up until this week, I have never made banana bread before. I had two bananas turn an ugly brown color, but didn’t want to throw them away, so I thought I’d attempt to bake. Before you get too nervous about this recipe, I would just like to say that I brought my banana bread to work the next day, and it was gone in a few hours. 10 Tips for the Introverted Hostess

September 17, 2014

I am pretty sure I’m an introvert to the core. I match almost all of the descriptions I just read on HuffPost – give or take a few.

But for some reason God has given me this huge passion to host.

20 Life Hacks Learned From Married Life

September 11, 2014

Since being married for only two years, I’ve had to figure out a lot of things for the first time – mostly with cooking (since I didn’t do much of that before), but a few other things too. You will probably find these silly, but maybe (hopefully) you will appreciate some of my new found discoveries, too. Continue Reading…

Tropical Smoothies from My Kitchen

September 10, 2014

In high school, I applied for a part-time job at Tropical Smoothie. I wanted to be a cashier, but had no idea that on my first day (and for the rest of my time there) I’d be sent to work in the kitchen instead. Continue Reading…

4 Pinterest Boards You Shouldn’t Have

June 12, 2014

Pinterest & Single

God has laid this on my heart a while ago, and I’m finally getting around to writing this. I really enjoy Pinterest. It’s like this gold mine of awesome ideas that are all in one place that I can organize by category. I am on it ALL THE TIME. Behind the Bible and creation itself, it’s my one of my greatest resources of inspiration for my designs, and even for my interior design at home. Pinterest makes me ambitious, too. I’ve been encouraged to sew, paint and cook. Oh my! I learned how to cook–literally–from recipes on Pinterest. I don’t even use cookbooks. Continue Reading…
