Has someone ever done something to you that hurt you deeply? When it happened, did you feel shocked, hurt, betrayed, and wondering “how could they ever do this to me?”

Halloween & Other Thoughts

October 31, 2016

We decided to go DC Comics this year with our Halloween costumes. Diesel is dressed as Clark Kent/Superman and I’m Harley Quinn. It was fun to play it up, put color in my hair and be a little adventurous with our costumes! See bottom of post for outfit deets.

I also wanted to talk about some of my thoughts on scary movies and other Halloween festivities too, so definitely keep reading.

To My Former Single Self

February 3, 2015

Valentine’s Day is approaching, and I wanted to write a post about dating, relationships, boys and the like. I started thinking about the younger me and how there are some things I wish I would’ve known then that I know now.

So, here’s a few pointers I have written to my former single, dating self, and to those who are in the same boat now. If you’re wondering where all the good guys are, and if marriage is even in your future, this post is for you.

Disclaimer: For your entertainment, there may be a little sass mixed in with this advice!

How to Cook a Perfect Steak

January 19, 2015

This is my most popular recipe and it’s a great protein dinner. It’s hubs approved for sure, because he doesn’t have to stand over the grill while it cooks! If you love steak, you’ll want to try this one.

How Do I Know He’s a REAL Christian?

October 20, 2014

When I started thinking about dating in high school and college, I knew I wanted to date a “good, Christian guy.” I think that’s what many of us want.

But the term “Christian” is so overused and the meaning has been muddied. How can you really tell if people are who they really say they are?

Are You Hiding Behind Makeup?

October 13, 2014

Before my wedding, my mom took me to get a makeover so that I could have that “perfect” bridal look for the big day. The cosmetologist helped me find the right products for my skin type and color, and I learned things I never knew about makeup. She even taught me how to apply everything, and what brushes to use. She contoured my whole face and used all kinds of products — primer, creamy foundation, pressed powder, blush, eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara, lipstick, lip liner, the works! When she showed me the final result I was shocked. It was a completely crisp, smooth and flawless version of my face. And I liked it — so much in fact that I wanted to continue wearing my makeup like that even after my wedding.

Had a Bad Day?

October 8, 2014

Has there ever been a stretch of time where you just feel worn down and emotionally beaten up by life situations?

Maybe things are just all going wrong, or you feel so insecure about yourself. Maybe you’re constantly comparing yourself to others, or feeling like “you’re the only one that feels/is this way.” Maybe you’re suddenly getting in arguments with people you love over really dumb things that don’t matter, or find yourself having a terrible attitude when there’s no real reason for it.

20 Life Hacks Learned From Married Life

September 11, 2014

Since being married for only two years, I’ve had to figure out a lot of things for the first time – mostly with cooking (since I didn’t do much of that before), but a few other things too. You will probably find these silly, but maybe (hopefully) you will appreciate some of my new found discoveries, too. Continue Reading…

Single & Pinterest

June 12, 2014

God has laid this on my heart a while ago, and I’m finally getting around to writing this. I really enjoy Pinterest. It’s like this gold mine of awesome ideas that are all in one place that I can organize by category. I am on it ALL THE TIME. Behind the Bible and creation itself, it’s my one of my greatest resources of inspiration for my designs, and even for my interior design at home. Pinterest makes me ambitious, too. I’ve been encouraged to sew, paint and cook. Oh my! I learned how to cook–literally–from recipes on Pinterest. I don’t even use cookbooks. Continue Reading…

October 29, 2013

We all want cute invitations that are personalized and unique. We want them to be different for our wedding, baby showers, Christmas cards, graduation invitations —you name it! But if you’re on a budget, talking to your graphic design friends may not be the best option.
