This past weekend I had the privilege of decorating a prom for people with special needs sponsored by The Tim Tebow Foundation at my church, Crossroads. It was an absolute blast! I loved seeing the look on our guests’ faces as they walked down the red carpet all dressed up, and seeing them get down on the dance floor. Everyone was so happy, and it was such a sweet night! To see more pictures of this great event, go here. I’m so thankful that I got to play a small part in it, and decorate with an awesome team of people! All the table coverings and balloon arches were so graciously donated by Illusiones Liz.
Valentine’s Day is approaching, and I wanted to write a post about dating, relationships, boys and the like. I started thinking about the younger me and how there are some things I wish I would’ve known then that I know now.
So, here’s a few pointers I have written to my former single, dating self, and to those who are in the same boat now. If you’re wondering where all the good guys are, and if marriage is even in your future, this post is for you.

My husband LOVES steak. So, I have been trying out marinades, seasonings and cooking methods in order to cook “the perfect steak” or at least by my husband’s standards. (And he has pretty high standards!)
Because I’m still intimidated by the outdoor grills, (Sorry, outdoor grilling is a man thing in my mind!) I have been experimenting with cooking my steaks in the oven. It works really well! And especially if it’s cold outside — you don’t have to worry about going out in the cold to check on your meat. You don’t have to worry about your propane running out. You don’t have to hover and constantly keep an eye on it or turn it over. It’s great! If you can get over the steak not having those beautiful grilled marks, you’ll really like my “secrets” to the perfect steak!
Can life and its situations sometimes entangle you in a ball of stress? Maybe your palms start sweating or you turn bright red. Maybe you get headaches from overthinking. Or maybe you have trouble sleeping because your brain won’t shut off. These (and more) are the terrible side effects of stress.
When stress takes over, we can often feel like we’re trapped and alone, and always scrambling for more time. It causes tension in relationships. It causes health problems. It causes us to lead joyless lives.
And worst of all—stress has this way of causing us to think about God less and depend on Him less.
Christmastime is my favorite time of the year. There always seems to be a happy feeling in the air. The excited bustling of people in shopping malls and in the grocery stores. The smell of the holiday candles in Bath and Body Works. The look of the Christmas trees twinkling from people’s windows. The cute holiday wreath that greets you when you come home. There are so many special things that trigger my enthusiasm for Christmas.
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope this post finds you well.
There are so many things for us to be thankful for. Sometimes it’s the things we don’t think twice about, and some are more obvious.
What are you thankful for?
I’m so excited about these floral note cards. I had mentioned earlier that I was going to include photos of the actual product, and here they are! Many thanks goes to my wonderful husband, Ben Peacock, for taking these awesome pictures!
I’ve been using these note cards already for more things that I thought I would. Of course, my original intention was for memorizing Bible verses, but I’m also using them for special notes to people. I’ve even used them as cards to just slip into the gift bags I’m giving others.
Looking for an easy and inexpensive way to fancify your cupcakes? Top them with cupcake flags!
This past weekend, I had to make a bunch of cupcakes for a baby shower, and as I searched the grocery stores and craft stores, I kept running into pricey cupcake toppers. Most of the flag toppers I saw were in packages of 5 and were almost $5! While that may not seem like much, when you’re making 50+ cupcakes, it can get unnecessarily pricey.
Inspired by 2 Corinthians 3:17-18.
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
